Hope ~ a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.
a feeling of trust. Advent is a season of preparation and waiting for the celebration of Jesus' birth at Christmas. The term advent is from the Latin translation of "coming." God's prophecies in the Old Testament prepared the way for His promise. - http://www.biblestudytools.com/topical-verses/advent-bible-verses/
Happy Thanksgiving! We are grateful for our amazing TC families and our awesome staff! What are you grateful for?
This week we have a group of seniors on a mission trip in New York City. Follow their adventures on their blog - http://tcsnewyork.tumblr.com/
To end, all the veterans present came up front to share their name, branch of service, and how they were connected to TC. It was amazing to see the respect our students and staff have for these men and women. Everyone, all the way down to the kindergarteners, was completely quiet as Mr. Mulder spoke and cheered and applauded the veterans. It was an awesome time together.
Mr. Alan Mulder then shared about the time his family bravely hid a family of Jews during World War II. After the war, they immigrated to the United States and became citizens. Not very long after becoming a citizen, Mr. Mulder was drafted and served during the Vietnam War.
Today we gathered as a school to honor those who have served and are currently serving our country. Thank you for your sacrifice and courage, Veterans! Chapel time started with everyone saying the pledges and the 5th and 6th-grade choir singing the National Anthem. The high school praise band then led us in a time of Praise and Worship. Emily B. led everyone in saying the American's Creed.
All veterans, their families, and community members are invited to attend a service for veterans recognition on Wednesday, November 11, from 12 - 1 PM at Troy Christian High School. The elementary, junior high, and high school students will lead this chapel to honor all former and current military personnel. We ask that all veterans arrive at 11:30 AM in the athletic foyer at the high school at 700 South Dorset Road, Troy. All TCS families and community members are encouraged to attend to honor these great men and women.
