Troy Christian's Alumni Hall of Fame

Four years ago at the celebration of Troy Christian Schools 25th Anniversary we initiated the Alumni Awards – recognizing outstanding alumni in their Quest of Knowledge, Quest of Excellence and Quest of Calling.  This year we would like to recognize the following alumni:

2009 Inductees

The Quest of Knowledge is awarded to Monica Wray Rowland.  Monica was a student at Troy Christian from preschool until she graduated in 2002, in Troy Christian's first graduating class.

Monica attended Asbury College where she received a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Business Administration and Accounting with a minor in Sports management. She presently works for a large accounting firm, Grant Thornton in Cincinnati and was recently promoted to senior associate in the audit department. Shortly after graduating from Asbury she began to study for her CPA license and received her CPA license in September of 2007.

Monica has used her business background on several mission trips to Honduras where she has helped the local people learn the basics of running a business so they could support their families. She feels the corporate world is a great mission field and one where she hopes she will always be a light for Christ.

Monica is married to Curt Rowland and her father Mark Wray has been a member of Troy Christian Schools Board of Directors since Monica was in elementary.  Her mother Tonya is presently on staff at TCS and over the years Tonya has graciously used her gift as a seamstress with projects at TCS.  Monica’s sister Holly is also a graduate of TCS.

Congratulations Monica for pursuing the Quest of Knowledge and honoring Christ with your gifts and talents.

The Quest of Calling is awarded to Arthur WeisenbargerArt started with Troy Christian in Kindergarten and graduated from TCS in 2004. Art then went on to Cincinnati Christian University graduating with a degree in General Ministries. It was during his first year of college, that Art confirmed in his spirit that he wanted to work with students. He had numerous opportunities during college to test this calling. He helped run an after-school basketball program in the inner-city, began assisting a local church with their youth, and eventually accepted an internship position to work more directly with youth at a church. These experience helped fuel a fire to serve God by working with young people.

He graduated from Cincinnati Christian University in 2008 and is presently the youth pastor at a church in Treaty, Indiana. Art has a passion to disciple students.  He wants students to grow strong and confident in Christ so they will disciple other students. His dream is for thousands of students to be on fire for Christ.

Art is married to Lauren. His brother Ray and sister MaryJo are also TCS graduates and his mother, Bobbie has been a TCS girls’ volleyball coach.

Congratulations Art for pursuing your calling and honoring Christ with your gifts and talents.
