Meet Our New Elementary Teachers

First Grade Teacher, Mrs. Jodi Hill

Mrs. Jodi Hill is looking forward to discovering the unique talents and gifts that God has given each of her students. As the new TCE first grade teacher she is in a unique position to encourage her students to use those gifts to glorify God.
With a master’s degree in education from Wright State University, Mrs. Hill first joined the Troy Christian family as a teaching assistant for Miss Fisher last year. Mrs. Hill said she is grateful to be a part of the TCE teaching team: “To be among such caring, loving co-workers is a privilege and an honor,” she added.
In her spare time Mrs. Hill enjoys reading, writing, biking, walking, and hiking.

Miss Hamaker and Miss Johnson make a caring, capable team of 3rd grade teachers who get to teach in brand new rooms on the second floor

Our 3rd graders have two new teachers, Miss. Jill Hamaker and Miss Samantha Johnson. Both teachers are not new to Troy Christian Schools, so they continue in their new positions with a love for our school and experience with our students. And....they get brand new classrooms!

Miss Jill Hamaker has been with Troy Christian for three years teaching pre-kindergarten. She is excited about growing in her faith and being a part of the TC family. Miss Hamaker enjoys sports in her spare time, and has run numerous 5ks, 10ks, and recently ran her first half-marathon.
She earned her master’s degree from Wright State University, and brings her bright personality and love of children to our lucky little 3rd graders.

Miss Samantha Johnson is a 2010 graduate of Troy Christian and has been involved with our students throughout her high school career.  She worked in the daycare for three summers and has been a long-term substitute teacher. Now she has her own 3rd grade classroom, and she is “looking forward to growing and walking alongside my students that I already love so much this year!”
Miss Johnson is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and reading.
Miss Johnson loves being outside, traveling, and dancing. She has her own horse named, Yankee, and, one more interesting fact about her…....her mother, Mrs. SaraJane Johnson teaches 1st grade at TC.
We are so happy Miss Johnson decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps!

Intervention Specialist Mrs. Kellie Moore

Mrs. Kellie Moore began with Troy Christian as a parent with her daughter attending our ECEC. Now, she has two children attending our school and she has come on board this year as our K-6th Language Arts Intervention teacher.
She has a master’s degree from Wright State University as an intervention specialist, with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She has numerous years of experience as an intervention specialist, as well as teaching in the elementary classroom. She loves listening to, singing with and dancing to Christian music.

Mrs. Moore’s constant smile shows how happy she is to be joining the TC family. She said, “After teaching in public schools for 14 years, it is wonderful to get to talk about God and attend chapel with my students.”
