Mr. Stephan and Mr. Jones -- New to TC Jr. High and High School

Two of our new teachers at the jr. high/high school are great role models for our students. If you haven’t met them yet, let us introduce you to Mr. Andy Stephan and Mr. Ryan Jones.

Mr. Stephan teaches 7th grade pre-algebra, 8th grade general algebra, and algebra.

He resides in Troy with his wife, Elizabeth, who also teaches at Troy Christian elementary. The Stephans have an adorable little two-year-old boy, William, who is about to be a big brother soon! The new baby is due in November.

“I thought about teaching before college, but decided to go into engineering,” Mr. Stephan shared. “While in engineering, I worked as a math tutor for other students. That’s where I discovered the joy of helping others work through math problems. I also have a heart for “being there” for students as a mentor, so I looked into education and made the switch.”

What a great combination: engineering, math, and love of students! Another great thing about Mr. Stephen is he’s a graduate of TCS, so he knows and loves our school. In the past few years, he has come alongside Coach McDaniel to assist the Cross Country team.

Mr. Stephan enjoys running, biking, shooting, and all activities outdoors. His goal is to get a house in the country sometime in the upcoming year.

“I really enjoy teaching mathematics to our students and helping them grow spiritually as well,” he said.

Welcome to full-time teaching, Mr. Stephan!

Mr. Jones can be found in the classroom during the day teaching 7th grade life science and 9th grade physical science.

He lives in Troy with his wife Katharine, their two sons, and their dog Sammy. He comes to TC with great experience and credentials.

A graduate of Wapakoneta High School, Mr. Jones received a bachelor's degree in sports administration from Miami University, and a Master’s degree in exercise science from Cortland State. He went on to achieve his teaching certification from Central State University with a license in AYA life science. He coached football for two years at Cortland State, and four years at Case Western Reserve University.

After school, you will find Mr. Jones coaching the Troy Christian football receivers, where he is in his second year as an assistant football coach.

In his free time, Mr. Jones hangs out with his boys, and he also enjoys painting, landscaping and auto racing.

Welcome to the team, Mr. Jones!
