Spiritual formation

All classes are biblically integrated and a daily Bible or Christian living class is part of each student’s day. Elementary Bible curriculum is based on Christian character development and scripture memorization. In jr. high and high school, Bible is a yearlong class that applies the principles of God’s word in everyday life. Chapel is a special time for the entire school to come together. Each chapel is unique and offers each age group time to praise, worship, pray, and study scripture. Guest speakers, students, and faculty share about God’s work in their lives. Special chapels held throughout the year honor important people in our lives, such as veterans and grandparents.

Service & Mission

Matthew 5:13 captures the message that we desire the staff, students, and families of our school to live by - to be SALT in their world now. SALT means to Speak, Act, Look, and Think like Jesus. In order to be SALT in our world students need to demonstrate Christ-like character. It is important that our students realize that they can be the hands and feet of Jesus right now. They do not need to wait until they are grown to have an impact on their world.

We are one of the few Christian schools in the country that require and provide mission opportunities for all children in early childhood through 12th grade. Each class selects a group of people to serve throughout the school year. The sixth grade class works all year to earn funds for their end of the year mission trip to Charleston, WV. Jr. High and  High School students are given many other opportunities to serve during ESM Week and with other mission projects throughout the year. We give our students many opportunities to serve locally, nationally, and internationally. Serving others challenges students to use their leadership skills and strengthen their character.

Hike ‘n serve

OCTOBER 9, 2019 - K-6TH

Troy Christian students, from our Early Childhood Education Center toddlers to our 6th grade students, will be serving their community during our Hike ‘n Serve event.  This event gives our students an opportunity to be SALT in their world now.

Elementary students will be preparing packets of candy as a thank you gift for our public servants (fire, police, foundations, etc.) We will send out a detailed information sheet closer to the event.

ESM INFORMATION

WHAT IS ESM?

Enrichment, Service, and Ministry

Troy Christian High School students attend non-traditional courses or trips during ESM Week. These courses/trips provide an opportunity for the teachers and students to explore topics that may be difficult to integrate into their regular curriculum. The students are encouraged to select an experience that fits with their own interests and budgets. Many of the courses include trips away from campus in order to gain first hand experience with a specific topic. It is our belief that such experiences help TCHS students make critical decisions in the college and career process.

We offer a variety of topics each year. Course/trip fees range from minimal to several hundred dollars. There is definitely something for everyone! We allow seniors to make their selections first followed by juniors, sophomores and freshmen.

2019 COURSE/TRIP SELECTIONS WILL TAKE PLACE AS FOLLOWS:  SENIORS ON OCTOBER 23, JUNIORS ON OCTOBER 24, SOPHOMORES ON OCTOBER 25, AND FRESHMEN ON OCTOBER 26, 2018.
